Hi All,

I have reserved a pitch at Easwell Camp Site near Woolacombe.

The pitch is a 'Super Pitch' which is an all weather pea gravel pitch.

I have never camped on a pitch of this type and I'm now having second thoughts.

Has anyone camped at Easwell on one of these type of pitches and what are your thoughts?

Has anyone camped on a similar pitch and what are your thoughts?

We have an Outwell Montana 6 with footprint and front extension. We also like to erect a wind screen across the front opening.

Thank you in advance

Hi.

I would have thought that gravel of any sort will damage the inner tent floor, as you walk on it!  I thought that all weather pitches(gravel or hard core) were for front wheel drive motorhomes, so they can drive off without difficulty, or heavy caravans, so they don't sink in too deep and become hard to tow away!  I could be wrong though!

You might want to invest in a VERY thick groundsheet(or a piece of old carpet) to use under your inner tent floor.  Personally I wouldn't pitch a tent on this unless has NO built in ground sheet.

Good luck,

Guy.
